Slovak Journal of Animal Science<\/em><\/strong> (ISSN 1337-9984 printed version | ISSN 1338-0095 online version) is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal edited by National Agricultural and Food Centre (NPPC) \u2013 Research Institute for Animal Production Nitra, Slovakia and published by the SciCell publishing house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Publishing Ethics and Publishing Malpractice Statement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is necessary to agree upon standards of expected ethical behaviour for all parties involved in the act of publishing (authors, editors, peer reviewers, publisher). SJAS\u2019s ethic statements are based on the guidelines and standards developed and published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All documents are available free of charge on COPE website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SJAS makes a commitment to prevent misconduct and to prevent the publication of manuscripts where misconduct has occurred and to not encourage misconduct to take place. The editorial office will deal appropriately with allegations of such misconduct when the editors are made aware of it or when it is identified. SJAS shall publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when necessary. Contact information<\/a> is provided on the website. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reviewers commit to judge manuscript objectively and without bias. Should conflict of interest occur, the reviewer is obliged to decline reviewing the manuscript. Reviewed manuscripts are considered confidential and should be treated as such prior to their publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is the author\u2019s obligation to provide a retraction or corrections should mistakes be detected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open Access (OA) Policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Slovak Journal of Animal Science and the articles published within are freely available for anyone to access and view under an Open Access (Green Open Access)<\/strong> publishing model. All submitted manuscripts will be considered for publication and published, if accepted, free of charge, and all content of the journal is freely available without charge to the user or the user\u2019s institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the DOAJ definition of open access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Repository (self-archiving) Policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The authors are allowed and encouraged to deposit a copy of their paper in an institution or other trusted repository of their choice. SJAS allows deposition of all versions of the manuscript in a repository of the author\u2019s choice without embargo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The publisher also archives hard copies of all issues via a legal deposit to Slovak National Library, The University Library in Bratislava, Slovak Agricultural Library, Central Library of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, The Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, State Scientific Library in Bansk\u00e1 Bystrica, State Scientific Library in Pre\u0161ov, State Scientific Library in Ko\u0161ice, and Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Care of Used Animals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If the work involves the use of animals, the author should ensure that the work described has been carried out in according with the ARRIVE Guidelines<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>which were developed in consultation with the scientific community as part of an NC3Rs initiative to improve the standard of reporting of research using animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originality<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The author is responsible for originality of the paper, subject-matter and formal attributes of the paper. Authors submitting manuscript declare that the submitted manuscript is original and has not previously been previously published, is not being currently considered for publication in another journal and that all other work used in the preparation of the manuscript is properly cited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slovak Journal of Animal Science and the journal\u2019s editorial process seek to be compliant with the industry standards for data privacy and the European Union\u2019s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provision for \u201edata subject rights\u201c that include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
